I am curious about the circumstances which would warrant a reduction in cs. Right now, I am the ncp of 3 kids, paying cs for almost 4 years now. The thing is that with my current cs obligation I can barely afford to pay my rent much less my other bills along with taking care of my children when i have them over for visitation. Added to that my ex has decided to go back to work and insists that I am required to pay child care expenses in addition to cs. This was included in the divorce settlement, but my job enables me to take care of the kids during the times she claims to need child care and even though I have offered this she has vehemently refused. I believe one of her other children will be taking care of the kids, and she is just trying to get more money. Is it possible that based on her increased income (with this job she will be making 2x what I make right now), coupled with my very drab financial situation and the fact that my attempts to assist with issues like childcare are being shut down, that cs could be reduced? I would get another job but right now I am in school full time as well, and I will never get out of this rut unless I keep up with this. I do want to contribute to my children's financial upbringing, but I feel as though I'm putting on their oxygen mask before my own...
