What is the name of your state? Lousiana

my wife is seeking a divorce and told me since our kids are in private school that I would have to pay for it. I told her I could not afford to and find another place to live during the separation. My question is: Is the child support split in half because we make about the same income and if I have to pay for the schooling, is that added on with the child support or is it included in the child support? Thanks

Child support and tuition will be handled separately. Since the two of you made the decision to put the kids in private school while married, it is very likely that you will have to pay for a portion of the cost even when you divorce.

If you and she have shared physical and legal custody (about equal time) and truly have comparable incomes, likely the financial responsibility for additional items such as health insurance and tuition will be shared in some way. Is this a private grade school or preschool?

And really, it would make more sense to just bump up one of the other two threads where you asked the same question instead of starting yet another.

It would appear that you have three kids, so I'm going to assume at least one is in private grade school, if not higher. A court is going to order you to help with that tuition - and possibly require it for any that are not yet in school.
