i just had the same thing happen in my custody case. We lived in the same state but5 hours apart. the judge ordered that a specific evaluator in the county that court was being held, do the evaluation. I had to drive 5 hours away with my kids for this evaluation. But it did a world of good. The judge got to hear what the kids had to say with out them being there in court. The evaluator can speak on behalf of your children. Bc to the evaluator they (kids) are the main concern..
