I am told I am a great Dad. I don't know why I just do what I feel is right. I was divorced seven years ago and my ex wife gave me sole custody. About 3 1/2 years ago she decided she wanted the kids back and lost in court. Then a year or so later she made up a bunch of lies and got another trial. We went through it all including guardian et lien ??? and a psychiatrist. The guardian during the court hearing asked about splitting the kids up, I disagreed with him stating that the only thing the kids could really count on in their life was each other. The psychiatrist said that I was the preferred parent and my wife and I were the preferred parents. He also stated that my ex wife used the children for emotional support and had a hard time of forgiving anyone for most anything. Among other things. The judge then asked my 11, 9, 7, and 5 year old children where they wanted to live. They all said with there mom except the youngest. The psychiatrist was also told the same thing except he stated that the reasons were: because our mom needs us.

Now it is two and half years later and she has two kids, and I have two. I have joint custody of her two and full custody of my two. Since my kids have been there my son was in a three wheeler accident with no helmet, he is ok now but his eye two years later still swells. My son again has received poor grades for the second straight year. C,C,D,F,F. one of the c's is in band. My daughter decided she wanted to live here last year, but changed her mind when she went to her mothers, She was told that if she went to live with me my daughter would never see her again!
Is this child abuse? She told her that I am not her father, that someone else is. This was discussed in court and was not to be repeated by order of the judge.
What can I do??

Oops!

Sorry. I even read back through the entire post looking for it, but NOT the subject.

There's a great attorney from Indiana who posts on the boards and I'll bet she'll answer you soon.

Tough situation. Sounds to me like you have at least one contempt issue on her and some possible unfitness issues.

How do you feel about the prospect of going to mediation (which the new Parenting Time Guidelines require now) and then possibly court again?

That's the only way you're going to be able to resolve this, it sounds like.

Let me know if you have other questions. OK?
