I would like to know if a parent have a legal right to take away the child from the other if there is some form of abuse; be it verbal or physical or both, directed at the other parent solely.

There should be laws stating something about abuse and custody. Do you have proof that there is abuse. Be sure to document everything it will come in handy later. Sometimes you forget something until you look back and read what you have written down.
