I live in Ohio. About a year and a half ago I signed over custody of my daughter to my mother. I now have my own place, my license back, a full time job with insurance, and I am going to school. I am ready to get her back and my mom will NOT contest that. When we initially transferred custody we paid a lawyer around $750.00 to take care of it. I was wondering if there is a way that I could do it myself to save money. I read somewhere on the internet that I could type up a paper have my mother sign it, get it notarized, and submit it to the courts to be filed.
