The accident happened in New Jersey. I was driving while a kid appeared from a slope on my right and rammed into me. There was a stop sign for the kid but no stop sign for me. The kid was trying to make a left turn but instead of stopping at the intersection, she went straight through at the same speed and hit me. She was injured in her foot but was conscious. In my car the bumper was dented and rear view mirror broken. There was a witness who also said that it was not my fault. The cops arrived and they agreed to send a report stating that it was not my fault.
1. Am i liable to pay damages to the cyclist because she was a minor? Even though it was the cyclist's fault?
2. If i am liable, will the liability coverage in my insurance company take care of it?

Please help me out with any info u can give on this. thank you.

Based solely on the information in your post, no.

See above.

thanks for the reply. Just one more thing - does this mean that irrespective of whether the cyclist is under 18 or not, if I am NOT at fault, I am not liable to pay them and they cannot sue me?

The age of the cyclist is not a factor. I wouldn't consider you liable since the cyclist ran a stop sign and hit you. They're liable (or more accurately, as a minor their parents are) for the damages to your car. The parents may sue you, who knows. People can sue for anything (or nothing). Whether they win or not is an entirely different matter.
