What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? IL

Currently in a change of custody dispute (home state IL), ex wife file a motion for change of Venue; appearance date for venue change is 1/11/10. My Question is; my ex wife just took my Son out of his school and transfer him to another without my permission. I just visit his school 3 weeks ago, no problems, expect maybe my Ex Wife. I live in IL and my son in CA. I have Joint Custody that requires any major decision must be agreed upon. Education, medical, religion, ... Do I need to file a petition "rule to show cause” or can I file a supplement affidavit to my custody change petition?

IL has jurisdiction. child resides in CA.

Why did she transfer your son from one school to another? Did she move? If so, it would be expected that the child would go to public school in the school district where she resides. She honestly doesn't need your permission to enrol the child in the public school district where she resides.
