I would like to know why if a single mother quits working or works less than part time to go to school she is given grants and a ton of public assistance (basically an unreal amount of free money) and she is praised. But on the flip side a father cuts his work load so he can go to school to better he earning capability he is called a 'deadbeat dad', racks up student loans, when he is doing the same thing that the mother is doing by getting more education. If he doesn't go to college and makes a low income and isn't able to pay the full child support ordered he again is a 'deadbeat dad' and his personal life can basically go to nothing with the fear of many of his privaligages taken away. Don't get me wrong I believe that helping single people (whether they are the custodial parent or not) get a college education is wonderful and I am thankful we live in a country that it is possible. I hope that no one takes my question personal, like I said without the grants and public assistance many parents would be unable to continue their education and improve thier earning potention.
