What is the name of your state? nm

I have a question? I am filing for sole physical custody of my daughter. her father has little to no involovement with my daughter know 13 months old. I have been dating my new BF for 3 months now. I live with my parents and he does not stay with me. I see him about 1 a week when i am not with my daughter and she is with the other grandparents. Will this effect my case. I have kept my relationship hush hush for the most part except that I kinda slipped about it to my ex's mom when i first met him.

Any advice?

If you're not currently married, then you dating should have no effect on the custody issue. Were you married to the father of your child? My ex was living with his next girlfriend all three times he's got divorced, and nothing was said about his parenting skills because of that. If you're not married, some people may frown upon it, but so what. If you're still legally married, I would put a hold on any behavior that may be deemed inappropriate just for safety's sake, but going out to dinner or a movie doesn't make you a bad parent.

first off, let me apologize if anyone read my reply post before i got to edit it.

let me try this again......

the only thing that could possibly be a problem would be if there is something about the new boyfriend. like.......if he was a child molester, convicted felon, drug dealer......something that would make the child "unsafe" with him in the picture. that would be a snag.

if you were married at the time you were dating......that would question your "moral" ability.

sorry again.....

good luck.

Any advice?
Don't bump uglies with your daughter in the room.

Don't bump uglies on cable TV.

Don't ask your daughter to get you a cig once you've bumped uglies.

Don't invite your ex over to watch you bump uglies.

In other words, who gives a rat's ass as long as the BF isn't named Jeffery Dahmer and he's not looking at your daughter with hungry eyes.

It's not the court's nor your ex's business.
