My daughter was leasing an apartment in Lafayette, In. with a friend of hers. Things didn't work out, so she moved back home. I have been paying her share of the rent as a courtesy until her roomate can find someone else. There is an "early termination" clause in the lease that says 30 days written notice shall be given for early termination and a $500 fee paid. Can she do this since the other girl still lives there? Also, I now find out that her former roomate expects us to continue to pay half of all utilities. My daughter's name is not on any of them. Although the lease says utilities will be paid by lessee(s) is she liable for these since she no longer lives there?
