I run a daycare out of my home. I was contacted on Monday of last week by a parent of two of my children and told that their children had been exposed to chicken pox that weekend by their thirteen year old babysitter. The mother informed me that the father would be taking them to the doctor. She assured me that they had been vaccinated against the pox. I told her that I didn't think that the doctor could do anything that they would have to wait until they broke out. At this time she began to question if they were responsible to pay if the children would be gone for a week or two. I told her that we would work something out.
During the week I had some behavior problems with their son. I informed them on two different occasions of this. The last time was on Friday, at that time they told me that they would figure out how to deal with it. Later Friday evening a recieved a call from them telling me that their son had a bite mark on his back. They accused me of not supervising the children and told me that they were not responsible for the two week notice that was in the contract that they signed, because they didn't feel their child was supervised. I have been doing this for a year and haven't had any complaints on my service. Just wondering if this case will stand up in court.
