What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Virginia

My son is a E-5 Sargent and has served in the 82nd Airborn for 3+ years and has been deployed to Afganastan for 15 months.

His enlistment will be up in July, along with many others in the 82nd.

He and many other solders will be stoplost and involuntarily extended for an uncertain time. they go back to Afganastan in August.

My son has no problem with this due to the fact that he will recieve an extra $500. a month, and he does't dislike the Army, just wants to go to school.

The problem is, he and others that are being stoplost are being told that if they do not re-enlist and they do get stoplost, thier DD214 will have a recode of a 4. This will be a negative (black mark) and he will not be able to return to service of anykind, and it is non reversable.

I've told my son that this can't be right.
Has anyone ever heard of such a thing?
