I recently purchased a new vehicle from the Ford dealership that my fiancé works for. We were given an employee discount as well as a few rebates. No one asked me if I wanted to put any money down or if I even had money to put down. They gave me the keys and I drove the car home. A month later the dealership called to ask for the $2000 down payment that they had forgotten to collect. You can image my surprise when I reviewed the contract and there it was in black and white. I would have never signed it if I knew they would expect a down payment. I feel that I’ve been swindled and I have no desire to pay them the money. They won’t take the car back and want us to make payments. I don’t feel this is right. The transaction was filmed and it is clear I tried to the best of my ability to understand what I was signing and yet I had no idea they were expecting $2000 cash. Do I have any leverage to fight this?

1: You agreed (in writing) to pay $2,000
2: You didn't pay $2,000
3: You owe $2,000

On top of that, if you make too much of a fuss about things you will be putting your boyfriend's job at risk as well.
