What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NH/CA

I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the correct section.

I live in NH, but I discovered that my biological father (I was adopted when I was 5 years old) lived in CA and died there in 2003.

I want to obtain a copy of his death certificate but am unsure if this will actually provide me the information I'm looking for. I am looking for "cause of death" and also who was listed as "next of kin". I searched on Google but was unable to find out if death certificates provide a cause of death and next of kin.

The complete CA death certificate will say the cause of death and the reporting party. The reporting party will not necessarily be the next of kin.
