My mother was receiving child support for 10 years from my father who was lying in acoma. Since she divorced him when I was 5, when he died I received everything. Ever since 1991 she has been receiving child support from me. She was the guardian of the estate and the person who had access to everything in order to write checks. She did stop receiving child support when I turned 18. The majority of the child support was not used for me, but to pay for my step father's new truck payments(which I don't believe is legal. Occationally some of it was used towards groceries, but in the last four years I was never home to eat because I was a member of my high school's volleyball, basketball, and softball team, so we always ate out Is it legal for a parent to receive child support from the child?
I live in Texas, and am now 19. I am currently attending school in Tennessee, but live with my mother during vacations.

WOW

I have never heard of this so I can offer no advice BUT if you want answers you will need to include your state and age. Then some of the others may be able to help.
Good Luck

The post states that the person is 19, goes to college in TN, and her mother lives in Texas...

To post writer: Why would you pay your mother CS? Do you feel obligated to pay her. Does she need the income. Is she helping you with your College expenses? None of this makes since.

Just curious.

She is paying her mom CS because she(daughter) inherited the fathers estate. So the CS that was due is being paid from the childs inheritance...
Pretty screwed up, but as we had all stated in advice to previous posters.. child support is paid to the CP to care for the child.. but I think this one is a new situation.. maybe mother could have had CS stopped at some point>?

She stated this after my post.. I can read thank you.

To our poster. I suggest you retain an attorney and file to stop CS. You are 19 and have LEFT home.. you should not be paying CS to your mother.

Did you forget?

I was merely informing you of your questions that I thought that she had already answered. Apparently yes you can read, but did you forget to take your pill? I have read some of your other comments to other poster's and you are very rude.
I'm sorry to the original poster of "Death of Father" for having to use your post to state my opinion pertaining to another replier. As L/B states so proudly in his/her post
"This is not legal advise" my suggestion to you is please do that.
