Death threats

What are the laws in the state of Indiana regarding Death threats, and who should they be reported to?

The situation is this: my nephew is living with his father and stepmother. He has heard his father tell his stepmother that if she tries to leave him, he will hire someone to blow her head off. My nephew is 15 years old and is scared of his father, there has been a history of violence from this man.
Any help in this matter will be appreciated!

The police should be called. Threats such as these are form of domestic violence.
