it looks like once again we are going down the bankruptcy path. now my mother is terrified that the new bankruptcy laws will allow both my husband and i to be jailed for "fraud" (no, we are not in debt because of fraud!!) and take our children away. is there anything in the new law like this? trifany in alaska

In a word, no. The new laws won't take affect until 6 months after the President signs the law and there are all sorts of problems in getting a bill passed. Go to http://www.clla.org for specifics.
