Debt collection agency ( law firm)

I live in New Jersey . I had to default on credit card 2 years ago ($7500). Account was clised and sold to a law firm debt collection serve. They sent me a letter seeking payment in February 2016. I responded that I do not confirm or deny I owe this debt and to send any proof. I received a letter this past week ( (June 25 2016). What can / should be my next response? I cannot pay the debt right now.

2nd letter from debt collectot

"Persuant to your request enclosed you will find Verification of Debt. Also enclosed are copies of account documents we are providing to you as a courtesy along with the verification of debt."
