What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NC
Hi,
I recently switched satalite tv companies. I thought my contract with my original satalite tv company had matured. Well, it did, but the clock was reset bact for 2 yrs when I had them upgrade my system, and i didnt realize it. Now im with another company and the original sat tv company wants their $300 breach of contract fee. I know I dont have a legal leg to stand on, cause im sure its all covered in the fine print. But heres my question...A collection agency has been calling me day and niight, wanting at least $50 a month. I told them I will send them $10 a month, cause Im on a fixed income. (ssd) Well, the calls keep comming. I received a call today from them, on and old phone I have, with No caller ID. When I said hello, the woman on the other end said, "mr bobo60, we have reason to be beleive, that someone is using your ss#" I asked who she was and worked for, and she made up some name, and said all she needed was my address to confirm if she was talking to me. I told her, just to see how far this was gonna go, and thats when I found out it was the collectection agency, calling about the sat tv bill!!! Isnt this sort of thing against the law?
That is stoopnig pretty low!...bob
