Debt collectors coming after a minor?

Hi I just got an email from a debt collector stating that I owe them 715.41 cents, They want the money within 30 days. I have one question, In california if you are a minor can debt collectors even come after you?

I'm sure it depends on what this is for, how old it is, and if the minor stated s/he was an adult at that time.

I never stated that I was an adult, It never asked me, I just got this letter in the mail yesterday saying I owe 715 dollars

What is the debt for? When you filled out the application and signed the paperwork what did you put down as your date of birth?

Basically what happened was I sold an item on a public advertisement place, the guy said he would paypal me then come pick it up. he paypaled me the money picked it up, 3 weeks later he filed a claim saying he never got it, paypal asked for a tracking #, i didnt have one.... So i refused to pay.


I never put I was over my age on annny application.
