I live in New Jersey: My ex and I have been divorced about a year now. He is in the military and has since been stationed in Mississippi. When we filed for divorce he agreed to pay all the bills. Even though some of them were in my name only. He even got the house. Which didn't do any one any good as he let it go into foreclosure. My problem is that now debt collectors are calling me constantly. Day and night. They leave messages and I do call them back and let them know the situation. They call me names (loser - dirt bag- trailer park trash - so on and so forth) That doesn't bother me but what does is that they don't care what the situation is, because those bills are in my name it is my responsibility. Even thoughI have court papers saying he agreed to be responsible.

I guess my question is.....What can I do. As I said he is in military and I have sent his command the letters I have been getting as well as a copy of our divorce papers. So far nothing from them yet.

Also....I plan on getting married in the near future..will this hurt my new husband in any way. I realize because of the house and the bills my credit is shot all to heck but I don't want it to hurt new husbands credit or his pay in anyway.

Any advice? Thanks in advance
