i'm living in ma. i've been informed that i have about three hundred days until the the statute of limitations runs out on an old debt to discover card. discover sold the debt to another co. that's taking me to court for it.
the amt. of the debt is $1778.67.
is there anything i can do to get out of this? and if not, is there anything i can do to lesson any blow to my credit history.

Almost made it. About all you can do is try and negoiate an out of court settlement. I'm sure as bad as your credit history looks with this chargeoff, a paid collection won't hurt it.
