Debts listed over 7 yrs. old

if debts listed are over 7 yrs. old and i have not communicated with agency can i write to credit bureau and request that debts be taken off my report?

thank you. maybe i wasn't clear. on the trans union web site there is a link to the FCRA which states "outdated information may not be reported. In most cases, a CRA may not report negative information that is more than seven years old." if i ask the credit bureau to remove items that are over 7 yrs. old, does this mean they must remove them by law?
