A friend of mine has been deceived. He and his wife were divorced 8 months ago. He was very concerned that his children maintain as much of their present life as possible. Going through a divorce would be hard enough on them. He didn't want them to lose their home or possessions. So, he agreed to pay his ex-wife $2900/month (a number which she calculated as the amount necessary for her to keep their home). He also agreed to sign the house over to her after hearing from her that she would keep it for the kids. He was not represented by a lawyer as his wife's lawyer told him he felt they could come to an agreement that both parties would be amenable to. Two months after the papers were signed she informed him that she changed her mind and that she was looking into selling the house. She has found a buyer and she looks to make over $80,000 on the sale of the house. She has told him that she will give him NOTHING of the profit. Does he have any legal recourse?
