i leave in the state of pennsylvania, and i have joint legal custody with my ex-wife. my visitation is every other weekend and rotation of holidays.

the children reside full-time with the cp, my ex-wife. there are times on occasion when i have to call my ex-wife about 1 week in advance to let her know that i will be unable to pick up the children on my scheduled weekend.

would i suffer any consequences by volunteraly giving up my scheduled weekend on occasion? mind you, i don't do this often, maybe 3 times a year, and sometimes less than that. i always give a least one week notice.

my current wife and i are tired of the sarcastic phone calls from the cp. do you have any advice?

We all have occasions when we need
to change plans. Normally a court will not hold that against you. One option is when you have plans let ex know and switch weekends. This should subside the sarcastic phonecalls. After all, you are providing an alternative to make sure you see your child. Why would she have a problem with that? Both sides will have to work hard at this as time will dicate that sports events, family outings, and other obligations take place on the weekend. Flexibility and compromise are the key to the child having a happy life.
Goodluck
PS Her sarcastic phone calls if made when child is present are hurtful/abusive to that child.
