What is the name of your state? Nebraska

I want to set my homeowner's insurance deductible higher (more than $1,000) but my mortgage lender said that I couldn't ....not because it was THEIR policy but the policy of the company they sold my mortgage to (FANNIE MAE). Am I legally bound to the policies of FANNIE MAE even though they're different than my original lender? Any advice is appreciated.
