What is the name of your state? Ohio

I work as a Financial Advisor for a large investment firm and we have a dress code. This resulted in me having to buy clothes to conform to the dress code (dress slacks and shirts and shoes). I am an employee of the company, not a contractor.

I am a blue jeans and T-shirt kind of guy, so I don't wear business clothes outside of work.

Can I deduct my clothing expenses for tax purposes?

You may NOT deduct clothing that is suitable to wear in the regular world. NOR may you deduct the cost of drycleaning these same suits.

Deductable are items such as police officer & fireman uniforms, nurse & doctor smocks. Specific 'uniforms'.

Professional office clothing is NOT a uniform. Sorry, but that is the way of it.
