Both of my teens work in fast food. They have both had monies deducted from their wages for "cash shortages". Is this legal if several people were using the drawer at the same time? Is it legal period? There must be something written by DOL that addresses what is legal and what is not. Also in one case, if the bread does not get used quick enough, the cost of the bread thrown out by the owner is also deducted from everyone's check.

Also, my daughter had a problem with a mgr at a major retailer and quit. The mgr left and the store asked her to come back..she did. She has been told by another employee that the mgr that left changed timecards and shorted all the hourly employees when she was there..which explains to me why she didn't seem to be getting paid for the hours I thought she was working. Which direction should I go first?

Live in TX.

Contact a labor law attorney ASAP before the statute of limitations to sue comes to end.
