A woman transferred property to a son,
but the deed was typed wrong, it should
have read east, but instead read west.
The son knew of the mistake at the time
he recorded it, but is ready to tell
people that he didn't know. He sold the
property, and no one discovered that the
deed is incorrect. Now the new property
owner is trying to sell. Does this
mistake make the deed void? The mother
has since passed away, if the deed is
void, does that mean it is still legally
in her name? Can the son be held
legally responsible for not correcting
the deed? If the new owner sells, can he
be held responsible too?... even if he
didn't know? And what if he did know?
Will someone please help with these
questions?
