on feb.17th of this year we closed on the sale of our home in sparta. today I was informed by the lending institution representing the buyers, that they had errored / ommited the transfer of deed fee on our settlement statement and therefore the new owners had not received the deed to their property. could this be possible after almost 8 months, and are we obligated to come up with this large fee because of their error ?

Help, does anyone have a clue as to my alternatives. Rumors suggest that I inform the lender to check with their errors & omission insurance carrier......... What do you think ?

Check with the essrow company of closing attorney. If there is no deed, then do what you should to complete the transaction by paying Seller cost etc.
