My wife and i purchased a home in NJ from a family member
5 months ago. the transaction was on a cash basis therefore no mortgage was necessary. since the house was purchsed from a family member we did not hire a lawyer, the seller's
lawyer handled the transaction and at closing, gave us a temporary deed, which is the only paper we have to this date. shouldn't we have received a copy of the definitive
deed from the county ? i am starting to worry since its been 5 months and we have not received anything official
as of yet.
Thanks for any info on the matter.
