What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Hawaii

If I have a civil suit against me for defamation for writing a facebook blog. I have had 5 press releases and luckily had the chance to get free counsel from 2 attorneys. There is a 99% chance i'd win, it seems, and before they took their sweet time bringing me to court I have a great chance to win a federal scholarship to study abroad in Japan for 10 months.. what are my options? It's a $20000 scholarship... it's very important I find a way to defer this or do something about it to ensure that I can still study abroad problem-free. I am an honors student and this suit is a ridiculous intimidation tactic to silence my opinions.

The demand letter said straight up that "normally, they would ask me to take down the incorrect facts, however, we deem it necessary to demand that you take down both opinion and fact... ...". Heck, even in one of the press release responses, they made a boo boo and admitted they are "at or near full capacity" when in the defamation complaint, they claimed to have suffered losses from my facebook blog (tinyurl.com/ohiatruth), which was not rude or over-the-top. I provided pictures, proof, opinion, and even said that I'd gladly change anything incorrect. To this day, they have not told me what is factually wrong despite my attempts to request this information.

There was black mold and I have a picture of it. They charged me $275 for keys and I have the invoice and written statement from my roommate proving he witnessed me turn in my keys to the attendant. Documented emails and invoices showing that I, and others, got overcharged by almost $1000 per person. I'm not exaggerating anything in my post; it's mostly a review.

Anyways, any tips would be greatly appreciated related to my suit and/or how I can safely study abroad in Japan. I got the summons several months ago, but the attorney I talked to said they could drag it out for a very long time and it's more than likely they do not want to even go to court (just want to scare me) because they are probably just trying to intimidate me into silence. Thanks guys! I am a student of the University of Hawai'i.
