I am going to be sued over the purchase of a puppy that was sold to me under untrue circumstances concerning his health.
I stopped payment on the check and tried to return the puppy only 2 hours after purchase, She refuse him and will not take him back.
I am continuing to pay for the Vet bills to get this dog over his infection.
While this woman and I had been on good terms I had told her of another dog I had seen on the web that I was thinking of buying.
The other party had forwarded me a couple emails that she had sent to him advising him not to deal with me and said that I was a thief and very dishonest.
I am purchasing a dog from this man and had intended to utlize his stud dog in a few weeks, He is now aprehensive of dealing with me and said he wants no part of this mess she involved him in.
She had no right to send him an email and slander my name.
Am I being sensetive or is there a law to prevent people from doing this?

Why yes there is.

It would be libel if it is indeed not true. To successfully sue and recover you will have to show malicious intent and actual damages.

That really sucks for you and the puppy. My mother got her money back and I believe the vet bills paid from a puppy mill that sold her a pup with an enlarged heart. They had to put her to sleep. I would check out information on puppy mill laws. And take care of that sweet little puppy, oh how people put the innocent at such a disadvantage.
