What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? WI

Is there any way to prevent my son's mother from slandering me and my wife? Beginning some months ago she began sending letters to the courts with outrageous accusations and claims about my wife and me.

She also lies to my son's teachers and has lied many times to his past preschool teachers. Always lies that are aimed at my character and my ability as a parent.

Now she has begun slandering me directly to the GAL involved in our case, alleging that I have been physically abusing her as recently as a few months ago.

Most recently, I learned that she has been trying to get me fired from my job by claiming that I have violated company policy and privacy laws.

All of her accusations are absolutely preposterous. We have been willing to ignore her direct attacks, but now she is bringing my son's schooling and my place employment in it. She has proven that there is no level to which she won't stoop in trying to ruin me. Is there anything that can be done? Or do we really just have to sit idly by?

I went through something similar to your situation. I took him back for modification and this is the exact verbage in my order, "IT IS ORDERED ADJUDGED AND DECREED that neither parent is to disparage the other parent in the presence of the minor child and each party shall facilitate a close and continuing parent-child relationship between the child and the parent"

My ex also tried to involve school, and the principal was extremely negative towards him. Maybe you can schedule meetings with your ex where your child is concerned.

I'm pretty sure the ex would have to provide solid proof of her allegations of abuse, and where your employment is concerned.

I hope I helped a little.

She can say what she wants in court filings. She is allowed to communicate with the teachers and school officials unless you can prove it is dangerous to the child for her to do so.

That was my fear.

So, the fact that she is spreading lies like wildfire, and that they have the potential to get me fired (which would be traumatic to my family), those things don't matter? She really can lie to everyone about my wife and me, and have no repercussions?

I understand that she can communicate with the court, and with my son's teachers - maybe my question is, should I respond and address these accusations? After the first instance my attorney told me to ignore it - but the lies are getting more and more vicious and defaming.

I want to do something about this if I can, otherwise I'll just have to put even more boundaries and safeguards in place.

Can't his attorney ask the judge to include verbiage that the X is not to contact OP's employment?

OP, explain to your X that she'd be hard pressed to get child support if you aren't employed !

As for the lies to the school and GAL. Does it really matter? Don't you think they have seen this kind of behavior before and don't you think it says a lot more about your wife than it does you. The teachers and the GAL aren't stupid. It's inappropriate for your wife to speak ill of you and they know it. Let her make herself look like the vindictive Biotch that she is. Just let it roll off your back!
