i live in nj and was recently dismissed from my job because of, in bosses words, irreconcilable differences, this is because i respectfully addressed my concerns with my boss regarding the manner in which my boss speaks to and treats me. our hr dept was in the process of assisting me with interviewing for two positions in the company. i was assured by three separate hr reps. that my reputation with the company is highly regarded, and i should have come to them sooner so they could help to transfer me into another position. they stated this is no reason to prevent me from remaining an employee with the company, in another position. my boss, on two separate ocassions verbally offered to provide a letter of recommendation for my work. i have since learned that i am now considered as "do not rehire". this now prevents me from transferring to another department within the company, and ruins my reputation should a potential employer ask about my status with the company "rehire or do not rehire" after leaving the company. i consider this a double standard and feel betrayed. can you offer any suggestions or advice. thanks!
