I am a canadian m.d. currently in a group family practice. One of the lab staff in our office accused my wife of making threatening phone calls to her family. this is completely untrue and this staff member admits that she has no actual proof (just a hunch). She is willing to proceed with legal action ??? if the phone calls continue. we have told her we don't no who is making these calls but she doesn't believe us. my question is : if any legal action taken by this staff member resulted in a delay or denial of our greencards, could she be sued for defamation of character.
