What is the name of your state?Colorado
I am a Volunteer Foster family for a dog. The person who runs the program is in Arkansas. After caring for the dog we wanted to adopt the dog and pay the appropriate fees etc. We have fostered before(for other orgs, never this one) and it is very common to adopt the foster dog. The purpose of all rescues is to "find the dog it's forever home." After being denied the opportunity to adopt this dog while simultaneously being strung along that we may be able to adopt her, the anquish became too great to deal with and the person in charge of this particular program became very rude. Reminder, I am a "volunteer" paying for all the dogs needs out of my own pocket. I told them I was resigning from that particular foster program and they said they would then take the dog away it was my choice. I resigned. My husband asked them not to contact me via my e mail any more as I had resigned and that all contact was to be through him from here on out--he attempted to phone them which they acknowledged via e mail, but did not take his calls. They sent e mails to my husband with false information and then proceeded to send e mails to other organizations I volunteer for saying not to work with me because I had a "stolen" dog. I resigned 20 days ago and they have never attempted to come and take this dog. Furthermore I received an e mail today that daid they were listing my foster as a stolen dog and they were going to circulate this to all rescues nationwide. I am sure this is defamation of character. I volunteered to foster, they gave me a dog to foster, I told them I no longer wanted to be in their foster program and they have not come to get the dog nor have they called to arrange to get the dog. Nor have they emailed that they will be coming to get the dog. By circulating that I have a stolen dog to dog rescues they have made false and reprehensible comments that are affecting my reputation in my community and in my volunteer efforts. Can someone tell me how to proceed.

Put the dog in the car, point the car to where they are located, take the dog out of the car, walk up to the front door, enter said front door with the dog and leave the damn dog.
