I am from the state of North Dakota.

Over a year ago, I submitted comments to a organization on their website. I sent the comments via the "contact us" page and through their website. There was no statement anywhere on the page saying my words may be published on their website (without my permission).

THey published my words and say nasty things about me publicly on their website.

Is there anything I can do or sue for? I have asked them over 5 times (by the emailing page on their website) to remove my comments and theirs and they have ignorned me.

Without seeing, that is reading the sites small print disclosure, it would be premature to make any comment
one way or the other. Wanna share the name of the site; not link, just name?

Here's the actual link to the direct page they published me on. (scroll down to the November 11th entry ... that's me ). I especially hate how they published my email address publicly online!!!

If you want to see that page that I sent the comments through, click on the "Send Email" link on the top right of the page - that's what I used to submitt my comments and also to ask them to remove my words from their page.

What do you guys think?

I think that since some of the comments and responses that are posted are as old as October 2006, if they were on the site before you sent an email you would have had a good idea of what to expect.

When did you email your comment?

It says the dates right on them. The earliest one dated is October 12, 2006. Mine was on November 11, 2006.

But see, I don't think they posted them right away, because I remember looking around their site the same day I sent off my comments and never found a page like that where they quoted other people's comments. It was months later until I decided to look around the site again and found my comments posted publicly! But I suppose I have no proof of when things were posted, so I'm probably stuck there, huh?

And if you are wondering, it has bothered me since the day I found out they had posted my stuff online. I'm just finally mad enough about it that I'm trying to figure out if there is anything I can do legally, since they have ignored my requests to take it off.

I also really don't appreciated being labeled as "Rodeo Mafia" or a "Rodeo Thug" who needs to go back to school. I have emailed them (with my requests to remove my comments) just to inform them that I will be attending medical school next year and they have no right to judge me on my education when they know nothing about me.

If you don't like how they published your email address online, you might want to remove your email address from your post here.....

Dude they based your comments on the fact that you can't spell worth beans. I noticed it the entire time I was reading your comments, it doesn't surprise me a bit that they blasted you for it. You posted your opinion, they posted theirs. endo story.

r_beau, I went to the site you linked and, yeah, you probably should have known what to expect when you emailed them. It is very similar to a PETA site - you don't email PETA saying you love to wear seal fur coats and not expect them to slam you for it.

You really don't have a defamation suit here. I would concentrate on med school and forget this site and, perhaps, change your email.

Geez, a simple "you don't have a case" would have been sufficient. We didn't need the rudeness in there.

And fairisfair, your punctuation and grammer is not entirely perfect either, so you shouldn't be talking. And I published my email here because there would be no other way to tell you which response was mine.

**A: ok, my grammer said you don't have a case. And my grammer is old but smart.

Oh, I wasn't suprised that they slammed me for my comments (that is definately to be expected). I just honestly did not know they were going to publish it on their website without me knowing.
