Niether if the facts presented in the e-mails are and can be proven to be true or opinion based on facts.pogo_80 said:Hi Belize, I appreciate your wit and enjoy your responses across this forum. Ok, my original question from a couple days ago indicated someone is threatening a defamation lawsuit against a group of people for discussing his drug problem, warts issue and other things in emails. Someone forwarded the emails to his girlfriend's family and now he's threatening to sue the person who forwarded the emails. Is this person in trouble or just the person who originally wrote the email? Thanks.
No one can tell you yes or no without full facts of the situation. But, simply receiving and passing on an e-mail discussion is not, in and of itself defamation or libel.pogo_80 said:In your opinion, as an outside party, if his past girlfriend Fiona stated he gave her warts and other girlfriends of his said he gave Fiona warts would this be a legit defense? If people are discussing it and not flat out saying 'so and so has warts!', are we off the hook?
pogo_80 said:Are there any real cases like this? Who would make their medical records public information and say 'see I don't have warts!' if true. Odd.

If you can figure out how to figure out how long court cases last...OR...more importantly, why court can't start on time, then you will be richer than Bill Gates!pogo_80 said:How long do these types of cases last in the courts?
