I am a Lead Slot Technician at a major strip hotel in Las Vegas. When I started 3 years ago, I was told to watch my back with 2 particular individuals. Lets call them John and Sam. Recently I needed to delete John’s shift and move him to another shift. He retaliated by filing a union grievance and won on a contractual point. No problem. This was an honest error and none of this was personal. John and Sam got together and went to Human Relations, filing complaints that I was treating EVERYONE unfair! They have gone around and recruited several other employees (that have had either attendance or policy infraction disciplinaries) to go to Human Relations and complain about me. There is currently a full investigation ongoing. Other than doing my job, NOBODY has any direct violation of anything! John and Sam have gone this whole route with 3 other Lead Techs in the last 15 years. HR doesn’t seem to wonder how these 2 can keep doing this. They look at the Manager and put his head on the block. They have told outright lies about me and continue to stirring the pot. I have done nothing wrong. Do I have a defamation of character lawsuit??
