Sex Scandals

What is the name of your state?
Florida

I met this guy through a coworker, needless to say we ended up hooking up and had unprotected sex several times. It went on for three weeks, I starting feeling sick at work, and a co worker asked me if I was pregnant. I took a test and I was not sure of the results. I called him up to tell him that I might be pregnant and not to worry because I had no intentions of ruining his life or mine and that I would not be keeping it. He told me to find out for sure then we would take it from there. My coworker told me to wait a week because I would be going to the doctor for nothing because it is too early and they would not be able to tell me if I was yet. I called him to tell him that I would not be going for another week. Now he is telling me that I can't keep my stories straight, and that he is going to sue me for defamation of character because I am spreading stories at my workplace about him, telling people we had sex and I might be pregnant. Basically if I am pregnant he is going to sue me not to have an abortion and if I am not pregnant that he would sue me for defamation of character.

Can he do that, he is freaking me out. In no way have I lied to him, I told him that I might be pregnant and as far as speaking to my coworkers about him, he is one of my coworker's roommate and that is why she knows we slep t together and the only other person I told was because she is a medical professional and I needed advice.
Can he sue me for defamation?

**A: yes he can sue you but he will not win. Next time before hooking up and doing the thing, make sure the guy's not an idiot. And use protection.

"....needless to say....". Does that mean you are known to be that easy? Good luck with whatever it is you "have".

Except for a few instances because of antibodies, most home pregnancy tests are accurate by the time you have missed your period if you have fairly regular cycles and within 3 weeks of having unprotected sex if they are not, so by that time a doctor could do a bHCG test to confirm a viable pregnancy. You did not need to discuss this with anyone other than your doctor and the man you hooked up with. Now he can sue you for defamation, especially if you have no proof of pregnancy, miscarriage or abortion.

Of course he will have the same problem as all the others who want to sue to protect their "good name". He has to prove damages, and in this case some level of malice.
