My situation is this: We rented a trailor from an individual for 7 years. During that time, we had numerous problems getting the landlady to make repairs and were constantly fighting with her about needing things done. Finally we had had enough. We decided to move out and she plainly said she would keep our deposit. We held back the last months rent (which we found out later was a huge mistake on our part) and she took us to small claims court. We did not show up because after talking to the Justice of the Peace, we found out she would be in favor of the landlady. Now we have a default judgment against us. All of this took place in Feb. of 2000. We haven't heard from the ex-landlady since. What does this default judgment mean to us? How, if any, does it effect our credit?( or any thing else)
Thank you, Tammy.
