I jointly own (with right of survivorship)real estate property purchased from General Development Corporation in Florida with my ex-spouse. My current spouse and I have paid the taxes annually for over 20 years. My spouse and I do not wish to continue paying these taxes and the ex-spouse has been notified. He is reluctant to pick up the taxes at this time.

My question is: will our credit rating "suffer" if the property is allowed to go to a delinquent tax sale status?

I would check with the Florida GDC and ask them whether or not they report "delinquent tax sales" to credit bureaus.
