Last year my husband and I built our house. We went through a local dealer to purchase flooring. When the carpet was installed in the Family room, it was two different colors and the hallway had horrible seams and due to design of carpet, the lines did not match up. After 7 months of calling the dealer, I finally was able to get them to send a manufacturer rep out to my house to inspect it. Two months later, the manufacturer agreed to replace 170 sq yards of defective carpet because they discontinued the carpet and I would not be able to match any new carpet I selected with what would be remaining. I only want to replace 70 sq yds and the dealer wants me to install ALL new carpet. I want wood floors in the area that was originally complained about and since the manufacturer gave a full replacement plus installation, I have ample credit with the dealer to install the floor I want and have some left over. The manufacturer told me to replace tha carpet with anything I wanted. The dealer is rude and tells me they can't put in a laminate floor. Now that I have asked for my money back plus installation, they won't call me back. Based on the POOR service from them so far, I don't want to go through anymore business transactions with them and just want my money back. What can I do?

I am a law school graduate. What I offer is mere information, not to be construed as forming an attorney client relationship.

It seems like everything from day 1 was unprofessional. Are they licensed? You should take this up with your county better business bureau for two reasons:

1) get your money back quicker
2) investigation launched so this doesn't happen to anyone else.
