Can someone cite case law that will indicate that an individual is incapable of representing themself in a criminal trial

Anthony, you can't find case law to that, what you have to do is go in front of a judge and make that determination. A judge will ask some questions and if you cannot adequately answer, you are incompetent. I hope this information helps.
