What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Idaho

My 16YO son (17 in Dec.) is giving us a hard time. At what age can we ask him to leave if he's not willing to live by our rules? At what age, if he chooses to leave, is he considered "moving out" as opposed to a runaway? What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

You are legally and financially responsible for him until he turns 18. At that time, you can pack his bags, put them out on the front porch and change the locks (figuratively speaking). Until then, you are the parents, he is the child, and what you say goes.

its sad that you are wanting to kick him out... im pretty sure its
normal for a teen to be defiant.

if its really out of your control, send him to a wilderness program
or boarding school where they have more experience dealing with kids like
yours. i went to boarding school and it helped me alot.

but for god sakes dont just give up on your child... thats sad

18 or put him in a childrens home, and pay for that.
