Funny how a new woman makes things change isn't it? My ex got remarried and suddenly everything changed. What kills me is that she is a mother, how could she encourage him not to take care of his children.

I too had heard that the federal government gets involved too but have no idea when or how. According to NY his drivers license is suspended but he claims to have gotten his license in WA with no problems.

He is also supposed to provide or pay the childrens medical benefits, well half of the premium which would raise the amount he owes me by over $1000 but I never bothered persuing, I figure he is not paying now so why waste the energy. My son is ADHD along with other disorders and his medication would cost $275 a month without insurance, the way ex job hops I can't take chances with benefits.

I wish there were a way to make them take responsibility, heck mine hasn't even seen his children in 4 yrs. Calls every week but that is it.

To TickledPink

I don't know if tickledpink is still following this thread but I wanted to let her know that National Guard monthly checks will be garnished even though the checks are small. My fiance gets his garnished, on his they take just under half of the check (they take $90 out of $191) and that is the only paycheck that he gets a month because he is a full time student. I dont know how a person goes about getting the ncp check garnished but no matter what your ex may tell you they will definitly take the money away from him. We are actually happy that they are garnishing the Guard money and sending to his little girl because atleast it is some money going to her, he won't really make any money for the next four years while he is in college, but when he is done she will get so much more than if he had never gone. Good luck getting some money from your ex, its too bad that things have to be taken so far.
