What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? TX

All this talk about doctors and medical records got me thinking about something.

I'm a single mom, I don't get, and have never gotten any child support, and sometimes it's a struggle. (Dad's never bothered to have anything to do w/ dd at all, financially or otherwise.)

My sister has a lot of money and no kids. She's incredibly generous when it comes to dd - she loves her a lot and they are very close.

Every summer my sister and her husband keep dd for at least a week. While dd is there, she takes her to the dentist and takes her school shopping (for everything - including a couple pairs of sneakers, even gets her a good haircut sometimes). She's done this since dd was about 4 or 5.

I just realized, even when dd had some major work done, no one ever called me. The dentist knows that dd is my sister's neice, but no one ever questions anything. I'm not complaining - I am incredibly grateful for my sister - sometimes I don't know what we'd do without her.

It just got me curious if it was bad, or wrong, that no one at the dentist's office questions anything...
