Only those who are on an "approved" list can have contact with or visit the child - and, although the Department of Youth Services is said to encourage this contact, phone calls and mail and visits are monitored and the scheduling time for visitation is often infrequent (e.g., once a week) and short.

It is possible/probable that you were not placed on the approved list for some reason. Do you have any idea why that might be?
